Introduction
Key vault is a cloud storage service that stores secure data such as certificates, keys, and secrets in order to reduce the chances of security information being accidentally leaked.
In Turbo360, Key Vault offers secret management to safely store and tightly limit access to the secrets. It does this by monitoring them using the available metrics and notifying the user when the Secrets in the Key Vault are about to expire.
Resource Dashboard
A default resource dashboard is available for Key Vault resources in the Overview section, allowing for enhanced data visualization and tracking of real-time data.
The following pre-built Dashboard elements are available to users and can be customized to suit their specific requirements.
1. Total Service Api Hits
2. Total Service Api Results
3. Overall Vault Availability
Monitoring
Availability status monitoring
The resource health status of Key Vaults can be monitored by using the Availability status rule.
- Navigate to Key Vault -> Monitoring
- Switch to Rules tab
- Configure Availability status rule with the desired threshold
- Click Save
Metric Monitoring
- Navigate to Key Vault -> Monitoring
- Switch to Rules tab
- Select the necessary monitoring metrics and configure the threshold values
- Click Save
The threshold values can also be provided with any metric name, defining the monitoring rule to be violated when the metric value configured at threshold field is met.
Monitoring rules will be saved for Key vaults, and the monitoring state for the metrics will be reflected after every monitoring cycle.
Secret expiry monitoring
- Switch to the Expiration time tab to configure expiration time.
- Select the required secrets and define the Alert Before field to specify the number of days before which the alert is to be received
- Click Save
Monitoring rules will be saved for Key vaults, and the monitoring state for secret expiry will be reflected after every monitoring cycle.
