Overview
The Users section in Turbo360 lets account owners manage who has access to the platform when the account uses email-based authentication. You can add new users, grant or revoke account ownership, resend invitations, and remove users entirely from the account.
Turbo360 uses a Role-to-User model for access management. Rather than assigning a user to a role, you assign roles to users, giving you more direct control over permissions across all modules.
Business value
Centralized user management reduces administrative overhead and ensures the right people have the right level of access. The ability to grant multiple account owners reduces dependency on a single administrator. Exporting user details with permissions gives you an auditable record of access across all modules.
Prerequisites
- Your Turbo360 account must use email authentication as the sign-in method.
- You must be signed in as an Account owner to perform any user management operations.
Required permissions
Only users with the Account owner role can access the Users section under Settings. All operations described in this article (including adding, removing, and managing ownership) require this role.
Dependencies
- Email authentication must be configured as the authentication mode for the Turbo360 account.
- Module-level role assignments are managed separately within each module.
How it works
The Users section provides a unified view of all users across your Turbo360 account, regardless of which modules they have access to. Any change made here, particularly user removal, affects the entire Turbo360 account, not just a single module.
When adding a user, you assign either a platform-level role or module-level permissions:
- Platform-level role: one of the system-defined roles (Owner, Contributor, Reader) that applies across the entire Turbo360 Platform.
- Module-level permissions: access scoped to individual products (Business Applications, Business Activity Monitoring, Azure Documenter, Cost Analyzer), assigned via the Specify product permissions dialog during the add flow.
Role assignment cannot be updated from the Users page after a user is added. To change a user's permissions, use the module-level settings within each module. Custom roles can be created at the module level only. Platform-level role assignments are limited to the system-defined roles above.
Turbo360 distinguishes between two account-level types:
- Account owner: has full administrative access to the Turbo360 account settings and user management.
- User: has access to modules and features based on the role assigned at add time or configured at the module level.
Multiple users can hold the Account owner role simultaneously. Ownership can be granted and revoked without removing the user from the account.
Steps
Add a user
Adding a user invites them to the Turbo360 account and assigns their initial access level, either as a platform-level role or with per-module permissions.
- Navigate to Settings from the Turbo360 homepage.
- Select the Users section.
- Select Add user.
- Enter the user's first name, last name, and email address.
- Under Role assignment, select Direct role assignment and choose a system-defined role (Owner, Contributor, or Reader) to apply across the entire Platform. To assign module-level permissions instead, select Specify product permissions, enable the toggle for each module, and select the role for that module.
- Select Add to send the invitation.
The user receives an email invitation to join the account. Role assignment cannot be changed from the Users page after the user is added.
Resend an invitation
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- Locate the user whose invitation you want to resend.
- Select Resend invitations from the Actions column.
This option is only available for users with a pending invitation who have not yet accepted it.
Grant account ownership
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- Locate the user you want to promote.
- Select Grant account ownership from the Actions column.
The user now has full administrative access to account settings and user management.
Revoke account ownership
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- Locate the account owner whose ownership you want to revoke.
- Select Revoke account ownership from the Actions column.
The user retains their Turbo360 account access but loses administrative privileges.
Remove a user
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- Locate the user you want to remove.
- Select Remove user from the Actions column.
Removing a user from the Users section removes them from the entire Turbo360 account, not just from individual modules. This action cannot be undone from within the Users section.
Export user details
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- Select the export option.
- The file downloads in CSV format.
The export includes each user's account-level and module-level permissions.
Configuration
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Add user | Invites a new user to the Turbo360 account via email |
| Grant account ownership | Promotes a user to the Account owner role |
| Revoke account ownership | Removes the Account owner role from a user |
| Resend invitations | Re-sends a pending email invitation to a user |
| Remove user | Permanently removes a user from the Turbo360 account |
| Export user details | Downloads a CSV of all users and their permissions |
Permission behavior
With Account owner access:
You have full access to the Users section. You can add users, manage ownership, resend invitations, remove users, and export user details.
Without Account owner access:
The Users section is not visible or accessible. You cannot perform any user management operations at the account level. To request access, contact an existing Account owner.
Example scenario
A team adds a new colleague to their Turbo360 account. The Account owner navigates to Settings > Users, selects Add user, and enters the colleague's email address. The colleague receives an invitation. If the email is not received within a few minutes, the Account owner uses Resend invitations to send it again.
Later, a senior engineer moves to a new role and needs administrative access. The Account owner selects Grant account ownership to give them that access.
When an employee leaves the organisation, the Account owner selects Remove user to revoke their access across all Turbo360 modules immediately.
Limitations
- The Users section is only accessible to Account owners. Regular users cannot view or manage other users.
- Role assignment cannot be updated from the Users page after a user is added. To change a user's permissions, use the module-level settings within the relevant module.
- Custom roles can be created at the module level only. Platform-level role assignments are limited to Owner, Contributor, and Reader.
- The Resend invitations option is only available for users with a pending invitation who have not yet signed in.
- Removing a user from this section removes them from all modules simultaneously. There is no option to remove a user from a single module via this section; use module-level user management for that.
- The export file format is CSV only. No other formats are supported.
- Turbo360 does not enforce a platform-level limit on the number of users per account. The number of users you can add is governed by your organization's subscription and any module-level access constraints defined within your license tier.
Troubleshooting
-
User did not receive the invitation email.
Cause: The email may have been filtered as spam or the address may have been entered incorrectly.
Fix: Ask the user to check their spam folder, then use Resend invitations if needed. If the issue persists, verify the email address entered during the Add user step. -
Resend invitations option is not visible.
Cause: This option only appears for users with a pending invitation.
Fix: If the user has already accepted the invitation and signed in, the option will not be available. -
Cannot access the Users section.
Cause: Only Account owners can access this section.
Fix: If you cannot see it under Settings, your account does not have the Account owner role. Contact an existing Account owner to request access. -
Removed a user by mistake.
Cause: Removing a user from the Users section cannot be undone from within Turbo360.
Fix: Re-invite the user using Add user and reassign their module-level roles. -
Exported CSV is missing module-level permissions for some users.
Cause: The export reflects the permissions configured at the time of export.
Fix: If a user was recently added to a module or had their permissions changed, ensure those changes were saved before exporting.
FAQs
-
Can multiple users have Account owner access at the same time?
Yes. Turbo360 supports multiple Account owners on a single account. You can grant ownership to as many users as needed. -
Does removing a user from the Users section also remove them from individual modules?
Yes. Removing a user here removes them from the entire Turbo360 account, including all modules. To remove a user from a specific module only, use the module's own user management feature. -
Is the Resend invitations option available for all users?
No. It is only available for users who have a pending invitation, meaning they were invited but have not yet signed in to Turbo360.
