This article describes username and password as an authentication option for Turbo360, covering how it works and why Entra ID SSO is the recommended alternative.
Overview
Turbo360 supports username and password as a standalone authentication method. In this model, users authenticate directly with Turbo360 using credentials managed within Turbo360 itself, not through an external identity provider. This option is available for organisations that have not yet configured Entra ID SSO.
Business value
Username and password authentication requires no Entra ID configuration, making it the fastest path to getting users into Turbo360. It is most suitable for evaluation environments or initial onboarding before SSO is configured.
How it works
The user provides a username and password on the Turbo360 login screen. Turbo360 authenticates the credentials directly and, on success, grants the user access to every Turbo360 account they are authorized for. A user may be authorized for one or more accounts.

Limitations
Username and password authentication is not the recommended approach for production environments. Consider the following constraints before using it at scale:
Turbo360 credentials are managed independently of Entra ID. Revoking a user's access requires removing them from each Turbo360 account individually; Entra group membership or conditional access policies have no effect.
Password policy does not inherit from your Entra ID tenant or your customers' tenants. You cannot enforce your organization's existing password standards through Turbo360-native credentials.
MFA and conditional access policies configured in Entra ID do not apply to username and password logins in Turbo360.
