Overview

This article outlines the core capabilities of Turbo360 across its four modules: Cost Analyzer, Business Applications, Business Activity Monitoring, and Azure Documenter. Use this as a reference to understand what Turbo360 can do and which module addresses each operational need.

Business value

A clear picture of Turbo360's capabilities helps operations and engineering teams identify which modules address their immediate needs, prioritise adoption, and avoid gaps in Azure governance coverage.

• A Turbo360 account with at least one module enabled
• An Azure subscription connected via service principal

Required permissions

No specific permissions required to read this article. Feature access within each module is role-dependent.

Each capability listed below requires the corresponding module to be configured. See each module's Getting Started guide for setup requirements.

How it works

Turbo360 capabilities are organized by module. Each module is independently configurable and can be used without enabling the others.

Cost Analyzer

• Cost visibility — View Azure spending across subscriptions, resource groups, and custom cost groups. Filter and slice data by tag, resource type, location, and time range.
• Budget management — Create budgets at any scope and receive alerts when spend approaches or exceeds thresholds.
• Anomaly detection — Automatically identify unexpected cost spikes using configurable detection rules.
• Optimization recommendations — Receive rightsizing, reservation, savings plan, and schedule-based recommendations to reduce waste.
• Schedule automation — Define on/off schedules for Azure resources to eliminate idle spend.
• Reporting — Generate and share cost reports on demand or on a schedule.

Business Applications

• Application grouping — Define logical applications by grouping Azure resources regardless of resource group boundaries.
• Health monitoring — Monitor application components using rule-based, query-based, API endpoint, and activity log monitoring.
• Alerting — Configure escalation policies and receive alerts when monitoring rules trigger.
• Service map — Visualize relationships between application resources.
• Automated tasks — Execute actions on Azure resources — start, stop, restart — on a schedule or in response to events.
• Dashboards — View application and resource health through customizable dashboards.

Business Activity Monitoring

• Business process tracking — Define business processes and track the transactions flowing through them.
• Transaction visibility — Query and inspect individual transaction instances, including their stages and payloads.
• Push and pull models — Ingest tracking data via Turbo360's push API or pull from supported Azure data sources.
• Duration and exception monitoring — Alert when transactions exceed expected durations or encounter exceptions.
• Reprocessing — Resubmit failed transactions directly from the Turbo360 interface.

Azure Documenter

• Document generation — Generate structured documentation of your Azure subscriptions, including resource details, billing, security compliance, and architecture diagrams.
• Multiple document types — Choose from executive summary, resource details, billing details, security compliance, rightsizing recommendations, and more.
• Scheduling — Schedule document generation to run automatically on a defined cadence.
• Export options — Export to PDF, Word, and Excel, or push directly to a Document360 knowledge base.
• Policy management — Define and assign Azure Policy definitions and initiatives from within Turbo360.

Configuration

Each capability is configured within its respective module. See the module-level documentation for configuration options.

Permission behavior

With access: You can use all capabilities within the modules your role permits.

Without access: Capabilities in restricted modules are not visible. Contact your administrator to request access.

Example scenario

A DevOps team uses Turbo360 to cover four operational areas: they track monthly Azure spend with Cost Analyzer, monitor their Logic App–based integration platform with Business Applications, trace order processing with BAM, and generate quarterly compliance documentation with Azure Documenter — all from a single platform.

Limitations

• Module-level capabilities are subject to the usage limits of the purchased Turbo360 license.
• Some capabilities require specific Azure permissions on the connected service principal. Refer to each module's permissions documentation for details.
• While Azure Documenter covers a wide range of Azure resources, certain document types—such as Network Diagrams—are restricted to specific supported resource types.

Troubleshooting

1. A capability described here is not visible in my Turbo360 account.
   Cause: Your role may have restricted access.
   Fix: Check with your Turbo360 administrator to confirm your license and role permissions.

2. Cost Analyzer does not show data for a subscription.
   Cause: The subscription is not connected or the service principal lacks cost management permissions.
   Fix: Update the service principal access policy by choosing the desired subscriptions and providing access to the relevant cost management groups.

3. Business Applications monitoring rules are not triggering.
   Cause: Notification channels may not be configured, or the rule may currently be in a healthy state.
   Fix: Review the monitoring rules configuration and verify if the notification channels and monitoring profiles are configured properly for the target application.

4. BAM transactions are not appearing after setup.
   Cause: The push endpoint is not receiving data, or the business process is not configured properly.
   Fix: Verify that your integration is sending events to the correct BAM API endpoint and that a business process is configured.

5. Azure Documenter generates an empty document.
   Cause: The service principal may lack read permissions on the target subscription.
   Fix: Assign Reader permissions to the service principal and ensure at least one document type is selected before generating.

FAQs

1. Are all four modules included in every Turbo360 plan?
   The modules included in a Turbo360 license are determined by the pricing plans purchased for each module. Any modules without an active paid plan will continue to operate under the Free plan.

2. Can I use Turbo360 capabilities via API?
   Yes. Turbo360 exposes APIs for several capabilities for each module, including document generation, monitoring configurations, service principal management and much more.

3. Does Turbo360 support multi-subscription environments?
   Yes. You can connect multiple Azure subscriptions to a single Turbo360 organization and use capabilities across all connected subscriptions.
