Managing multiple organizations

Overview

Managing multiple organizations lets a single user identity belong to and manage multiple organizations. Each organization is a separate Turbo360 account with its own name, users, modules, and licensing. A single email address (basic authentication) or Entra ID domain name (Microsoft Entra ID authentication) can be associated with more than one organization, enabling scenarios such as maintaining separate environments or belonging to both a personal and an organizational account.

Each email address or domain name can be used to create an account only once. However, the same identity can be added as a member to other existing organizations, and can also create additional organizations from the Manage accounts section. This feature is only available in the Turbo360 SaaS application. It is not supported in private hosting instances.

Business value

Teams that manage separate Turbo360 environments (for example, production and non-production) can do so under a single login identity. Users no longer need separate credentials per environment. Switching between organizations takes a single click and does not require re-authentication.

Prerequisites

• An active Turbo360 account.
• For Microsoft Entra ID authentication: a configured Entra ID tenant with a unique domain name.

Required permissions

Any authenticated Turbo360 user can create additional organizations and switch between organizations they belong to. No elevated permissions are required.

Dependencies

• Microsoft Entra ID (optional): required only when using domain-based authentication for additional organizations.

How it works

Turbo360 associates organizations with a user identity at sign-in. When you sign in, the portal loads your default organization. If you belong to multiple organizations, you can switch to any of them from the Manage accounts section without signing out. Each organization maintains its own configuration, users, and module data independently. The last organization you switched to becomes the startup organization on your next sign-in, unless you explicitly set a different default.

Steps

Access Manage accounts

Manage accounts lists all Turbo360 organizations associated with your identity, giving you a single place to switch between them or create a new one.

1. Select the Profile icon in the top-right corner of the portal.
2. Select Manage accounts.

Create a new organization

Creating a new organization sets up an independent Turbo360 account under your identity with a 15-day trial license.

1. Select the Profile icon in the top-right corner.
2. Select Manage accounts.
3. Select Create account.
4. Enter a valid account name and contact information.
5. Select Create account.

Switch organizations

Switching organizations reloads the portal in the selected account without requiring you to sign out.

1. Open Manage accounts from the profile menu.
2. Locate the organization you want to switch to.
3. Select Switch.

Set a default organization

Setting a default organization determines which account loads first on your next sign-in.

1. Open Manage accounts from the profile menu.
2. Locate the organization you want to set as default.
3. Select Change next to the default account display.

Configuration

Permission behavior

With access:
Any authenticated user can create additional organizations, switch between organizations they belong to, and update their default organization.

Without access:
No elevated permissions are required.

Example scenario

A platform engineer belongs to two Turbo360 organizations: one for production monitoring and one for non-production testing. Both are linked to the same Microsoft Entra ID domain. Each morning, the engineer signs in and lands in the production organization (set as default). When needed for testing, they open Manage accounts, select Switch on the non-production organization, and the portal reloads in that environment. No re-authentication is required.

Limitations

• An email address or domain name can only be used to create one Turbo360 organization. The same identity can be added as a member to additional organizations but cannot register a second organization under the same primary identity.
• Switching organizations triggers a full portal reload.
• Module configuration, users, and data are not shared between organizations.

Troubleshooting

1. The Manage accounts option is not visible.
   Cause: The option appears in the profile menu only for authenticated users.
   Fix: Ensure you are signed in. If still not visible, clear your browser cache and reload the portal.

2. Create account fails with a duplicate name error.
   Cause: Account names must be unique across Turbo360.
   Fix: Choose a different account name and try again.

3. After switching organizations, the portal shows incorrect data.
   Cause: The portal may have loaded stale data from the previous session.
   Fix: Confirm the correct organization is active by checking the name in the portal header. If correct but data is stale, perform a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R or Cmd+Shift+R).

4. The default organization did not update after selecting Change.
   Cause: The change takes effect on the next sign-in, not immediately.
   Fix: Sign out and back in. If the expected organization does not load, repeat the steps and confirm the Change action completed successfully.

5. I cannot see an organization I was added to as a member.
   Cause: Your membership may not yet be active, or it may have been removed.
   Fix: Contact the account owner of that organization to verify your membership status.

FAQs

1. Can I use the same email address to create more than one organization?
   No. Each email address or Entra ID domain name can only be used to create one Turbo360 organization. However, you can be added as a member to other organizations using the same identity.

2. Does switching organizations affect my session in the previous organization?
   Switching reloads the portal in the new organization. Your previous session ends. Any unsaved work in the previous organization should be saved before switching.

3. Is a separate license required for each organization?
   Yes. Each organization is a separate Turbo360 account with its own licensing. A trial license is applied automatically when you create a new organization.
