License management

Overview

License management in Turbo360 covers activating, upgrading, and monitoring licenses for your private hosted instance. Every private instance must have an active license to operate. Turbo360 offers two license types: Trial and Commercial.

Business value

Activating the correct license is the most important step after deploying a Turbo360 private instance. Understanding license consumption thresholds and module-specific limits prevents unexpected access restrictions and allows you to plan license upgrades before critical limits are reached.

How it works

Turbo360 licenses are issued as a License and Service Certificate containing an Order Number and License Code. Once activated, the license governs access to the instance and tracks consumption across modules. License consumption is governed by the quantity of purchased module units and the Azure cost limit specified in your commercial license.

License types

  • Trial — enables you to run a Turbo360 private instance in trial mode with access to all features for a set period (typically 15 days). The trial period begins on the date of activation.
  • Commercial — a paid license that allows continued use of Turbo360 after a successful trial. The commercial license period begins on the date of issuance.
How to get a commercial license?

To purchase a commercial license, contact the Turbo360 licensing team at contact@turbo360.com.

Consumption thresholds

At 50% consumption, an alert icon appears at the top of the application. Click it to view your current license usage details.

At 100% consumption, a warning popup appears within the first 5 days of the upcoming month for the Business Applications and Azure Documenter modules. From the 6th day onwards, access to the affected module is fully restricted.

Exceeding the purchased limit for BAM tracking events results in temporary access restrictions to Business Activity Monitoring until the start of the next month, when the event count resets.

Monthly reset

The following consumption counters reset at the start of each month:

Module Counter
Business Applications Resource usage count, Automated Task usage count
Business Activity Monitoring BAM tracked events usage
Azure Documenter Document generations count

Module-specific behavior at 100% consumption

Business Applications: You retain access to the Business Applications module even when both the Azure resource limit and the Automated Task limit reach 100%. Beyond this threshold, access to the Automated Tasks section for all existing Business Applications is fully blocked.

Azure Documenter: You retain access to Azure Documenter even when the document generation count reaches 100%. However, you cannot add new document configurations or initiate further document generation.

To continue using modules beyond your purchased limits, contact the Turbo360 licensing team at contact@turbo360.com to upgrade your license.

Steps

Use the following steps to request, activate, and upgrade licenses for your Turbo360 private instance. Open your Turbo360 private instance to get started.

Request a commercial license

Requesting a commercial license initiates the issuance of the License and Service Certificate required for activation.

  1. Contact the Turbo360 licensing team at contact@turbo360.com to request a commercial license.
  2. The licensing team will issue a License and Service Certificate containing the Order Number and License Code required to activate the license.

Activate a license

Activating a license enables the Turbo360 private instance to operate under the terms of the issued certificate.

  1. Open your Turbo360 private instance.
  2. Navigate to the license activation section.
  3. Enter the Order Number and License Code exactly as specified in the certificate.

Upgrade from trial to commercial license

Upgrading from a trial to a commercial license replaces the time-limited trial with a paid license, restoring full access without interruption.

Users with the Administrator role can perform this upgrade.

  1. Navigate to General Settings and deactivate the Trial license.
  2. When prompted, provide valid commercial license details.
  3. Activate the Commercial license using the Order Number and License Code from your License and Service Certificate.

Troubleshooting

  1. License activation fails after entering Order Number and License Code
Cause: The Order Number or License Code was entered incorrectly, or the certificate has already been activated on another instance.
Fix: Verify that both values are copied exactly from the License and Service Certificate. Contact contact@turbo360.com if the certificate has already been consumed.

  2. Access to a module is restricted unexpectedly
Cause: The license consumption limit for that module has reached 100% and the 5-day grace period has expired.
Fix: Check the current consumption by clicking the alert icon at the top of the application. Contact the Turbo360 licensing team at contact@turbo360.com to upgrade your license limits.

  3. Trial license has expired before a commercial license was activated
Cause: The 15-day trial period ended without a commercial license being activated.
Fix: Contact contact@turbo360.com to request a commercial license. Once issued, follow the activation steps above.

  4. Consumption counters have not reset at the start of the month
Cause: The reset may be delayed by a few hours depending on time zone and processing time.
Fix: Wait up to 24 hours after the first of the month. If counters have still not reset, contact Turbo360 support.

  5. The license activation section is not visible in the application
Cause: The user does not have the Administrator role, which is required to access license management.
Fix: Log in with an account that has the Administrator role, or ask an existing administrator to perform the activation.
