Overview
Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) in Turbo360 supports hybrid integration scenarios that span both on-premises BizTalk Server and cloud-based Azure services such as Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus, API Management, and Power Automate. This article introduces the BizTalk integration capability and explains how it enables end-to-end transaction visibility across on-premises and cloud boundaries.
Business value
Teams running hybrid BizTalk and Azure integration architectures often lack a unified view of business transactions that cross both environments. Turbo360 BAM eliminates this gap by providing a single tracking plane that correlates transaction stages regardless of whether they originate in BizTalk Server or Azure — reducing mean time to resolution for cross-environment failures and removing the need to context-switch between separate monitoring tools.
How it works
Modern integration scenarios frequently combine BizTalk Server for on-premises orchestration with Azure services for cloud-side processing. Getting end-to-end visibility across these environments requires a tracking solution that understands both.
Turbo360 BAM achieves this through a set of pipeline components and orchestration helpers installed on the BizTalk Server side. These components send tracking data to the BAM Function App, where it is correlated with data arriving from Azure-side integrations. The result is a unified transaction instance view that shows every stage — whether it ran in BizTalk or in Azure — as part of a single traceable flow.
You can use Turbo360 BAM to track:
- Transactions running entirely within BizTalk Server
- Transactions running entirely within Azure
- Hybrid transactions that span both BizTalk Server and Azure
Prerequisites
Before setting up BizTalk integration, ensure the following are in place:
- A working Turbo360 BAM environment with the BAM Function App deployed and accessible
- BizTalk Server with sufficient permissions to install MSI packages and deploy applications
- Access to the BizTalk Admin Console
- The Turbo360 BizTalk BAM-1.0 MSI package (available from Kovai)
