How it works

Questions are grouped by topic: general platform, Azure connectivity, Cost Analyzer, Business Activity Monitoring, Business Applications, Azure Documenter, and account management. Each answer is self-contained; follow the links provided to go deeper where needed.

FAQs

General platform

  1. What is Turbo360?
Turbo360 is an Azure management platform that provides cost visibility, business activity monitoring, application health management, and automated Azure documentation from a single interface. It connects to your Azure subscriptions via a service principal and surfaces operational insights across your environments.

  2. Which Azure services does Turbo360 support?
Turbo360 works with a broad set of Azure services including Logic Apps, Service Bus, Event Grid, Event Hub, Azure Functions, API Management, Data Factory, App Service, and more. Supported service coverage varies by module — refer to each module's documentation for the current list.

  3. Does Turbo360 store my Azure data?
Turbo360 retrieves data from Azure using the service principal you configure. Cost data and activity data are processed and stored within the Turbo360 platform to power dashboards, alerts, and reports. No data is shared with third parties. Refer to the Turbo360 privacy policy for full details.

  4. Can I use Turbo360 across multiple Azure subscriptions?
Yes. You can connect multiple Azure subscriptions to a single Turbo360 organisation. Each subscription requires the service principal to have the appropriate roles assigned at the subscription scope.

  5. What browsers does Turbo360 support?
Turbo360 supports the latest versions of Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome, and Mozilla Firefox.

Azure connectivity

  1. What permissions does the Turbo360 service principal need?
The minimum required role is Reader at the subscription scope for read-only access. Some features — such as Cost Analyzer data import and resource operations via Business Applications — require additional roles. Refer to Service principal setup for the full permission list per module.

  2. My Azure subscription is not appearing in Turbo360. What should I check?
Verify that the service principal has the Reader role assigned at the subscription level in Azure Portal. Then retry the subscription validation step in Turbo360. If the subscription still does not appear, check that the subscription is active and not in a suspended state.

  3. How often does Turbo360 sync data from Azure?
Sync frequency depends on the module and the data type. Cost data follows a scheduled import cadence that you configure. Activity data for Business Activity Monitoring (BAM) is near-real-time. You can also trigger a manual sync from the Azure Connection settings.

  4. Can I rotate the service principal credentials without losing my configuration?
Yes. Navigate to the Azure connection settings in Turbo360, update the client secret with the newly generated value, and save. Your existing subscriptions, dashboards, and alerts are not affected.

Cost Analyzer

  1. Why does my cost data in Turbo360 differ from the Azure Portal?
There is typically a processing delay between when Azure Cost Management exports data and when Turbo360 completes its import. If the discrepancy persists beyond 24 hours after the last scheduled import, trigger a manual sync and review the import logs for errors.

  2. How far back does Cost Analyzer show historical data?
The lookback period depends on your import configuration and the data retention available in Azure Cost Management. Azure Cost Management retains data for a limited period (typically 13 months). Configure your import start date accordingly when setting up Cost Analyzer for the first time.

  3. Can I set budgets for individual resource groups or subscriptions?
Yes. Cost Analyzer supports budgets at the cost group level, which can be scoped to specific subscriptions, resource groups, or tag-based groupings. See the Budget planner and Group budget articles for configuration details.

  4. Does Cost Analyzer support reserved instance or savings plan costs?
Yes. Cost Analyzer ingests reservation and savings plan data as part of the Azure Cost Management export. You can view these costs alongside pay-as-you-go charges in your cost analysis views.

Business Activity Monitoring

  1. What is the difference between the Push Model and the Pull Model in BAM?
The Push Model uses Custom Logging — your integration sends activity data directly to the BAM API at each step in a process. The Pull Model uses Data Queries — BAM queries existing data sources such as Application Insights or Azure Data Explorer to retrieve activity data. Choose the Push Model when you need fine-grained control over what is tracked; use the Pull Model when your data already exists in a supported data source.

  2. How do I verify that my Business Activity Monitoring environment is set up correctly?
After deployment, use the BAM deployment verification steps to confirm that events are flowing correctly. Navigate to the relevant transaction instance view to check that tracking data is appearing as expected.

  3. Can BAM track transactions across multiple Azure services?
Yes. BAM supports end-to-end tracking across multi-step workflows that span Logic Apps, Azure Functions, API Management, Service Bus, and other supported services. Each service emits tracking data at its designated stage, and BAM correlates the events into a single transaction view.

  4. What happens to old transaction data?
BAM applies a configurable purging policy that removes transaction data after a defined retention period. You can configure the purge period per business process in the Storage management settings. This helps manage storage costs and keeps the tracking view relevant.

Business Applications

  1. What is a Business Application in Turbo360?
A Business Application is a logical grouping of Azure resources that represent a specific solution or workload — for example, an order processing system comprising Logic Apps, Service Bus, and Azure Functions. Grouping resources this way lets you monitor the health of the entire solution in one place rather than managing individual resources separately.

  2. Can I monitor resources across multiple resource groups in a single Business Application?
Yes. A Business Application can include resources from multiple resource groups and multiple subscriptions. This makes it well-suited for modelling real-world solutions that span multiple Azure scopes.

  3. What types of monitoring rules can I configure for a Business Application?
Business Applications supports availability monitoring, state-based monitoring, metric-threshold monitoring, query-based monitoring, API endpoint monitoring, and activity log monitoring. You can combine multiple rule types within a single application to build comprehensive health coverage.

  4. How do automated tasks differ from Azure automation or Logic App workflows?
Automated tasks in Turbo360 are lightweight operational actions — such as starting, stopping, or restarting a resource — triggered on a schedule or on demand from within the Turbo360 interface. They do not replace full workflow orchestration tools like Logic Apps; they complement them by providing fast, targeted resource operations without leaving the platform.

Azure Documenter

  1. What types of documents can Azure Documenter generate?
Azure Documenter supports 17 document types: executive summary, resource details, billing details, security compliance, cost comparison, resource auditing, access details by subscription, access details by type, rightsizing recommendations, reservation recommendations, network topology diagram, workload diagram, carbon summary, carbon optimizations, license consumption, license optimizations, and service plan matrix.

  2. Can I schedule document generation automatically?
Yes. Azure Documenter supports scheduled document generation. You can configure a schedule for each document and set up notifications for when generation completes. See the Scheduling articles for configuration details.

  3. Does Azure Documenter support multiple output formats?
Yes. Documents can be exported as PDF, published online, or exported directly to a Document360 knowledge base. See the Export Options section for details on each format.

Account and licensing

  1. How do I invite additional users to my Turbo360 organisation?
Navigate to Settings > Users and send an invitation to the user's email address. The user receives an invitation email and can complete sign-up using the authentication method configured for your organisation.

  2. Can I assign different access levels to different users?
Yes. Turbo360 uses role-based access control (RBAC). You can assign roles at the organisation level and at the individual module or account level. Contact your Turbo360 administrator to review and configure role assignments.

  3. What authentication options are available?
Turbo360 supports Entra ID SSO (using your own tenant or a proxy tenant) and username and password. Entra ID SSO is recommended for production environments. See Cloud Solution Provider authentication approaches for an overview of the available approaches.

  4. How do I raise a support ticket?
Navigate to Support & Updates > Raise a ticket in the knowledge base, or contact the Turbo360 support team directly. When raising a ticket, include the affected module, a description of the issue, any error messages shown in the UI, and the approximate time the issue first occurred.
