Overview
Platform-level user activities is a governance and audit feature in Turbo360 that provides a complete operational log of all changes made across your account. It captures what was done, when it happened, and who performed the action.
Each log entry records the operation performed, the user who performed it, the date and time, and — for update operations — a before-and-after comparison of the changes made. Log detail is presented in JSON format. Any changes resulting from update operations are compared and highlighted in the Changes tab.
Business value
In multi-user Turbo360 accounts, tracking configuration changes is critical for governance, incident response, and compliance. User activities eliminates the manual effort of identifying who changed what by providing a centralized, searchable audit trail across all four modules and platform-level settings. This supports accountability, reduces mean time to resolution during incidents, and provides the evidence trail required for regulatory audits.
Prerequisites
- You must have access to the Turbo360 Settings menu.
How it works
Turbo360 captures a log entry for every create, update, and delete operation performed across Settings and all four modules. Logs are stored for 30 days and then purged automatically.
Logs older than 30 days are purged automatically and cannot be recovered.
Each log entry includes:
- The operation type (create, update, delete)
- The feature or resource affected
- The user who performed the action
- The date and time of the action
- For update operations: a JSON diff of the changes made, visible in the Changes tab
Steps
To access user activities:
- Navigate to Settings in the Turbo360 portal.
- Select User activities from the Settings menu.
- Select a log category from the available tabs: Settings, Business Application, Business Activity Monitoring, Azure Documenter, or Cost Analyzer.
- Review the log entries in the list. Select any entry to view its full JSON detail.
- To view the before-and-after comparison for an update operation, select the Changes tab within the log entry.
The following log categories are available:
Settings — displays a detailed history of all changes made in the overall settings for all four modules, including notification channel management, user management, switching authentication details, and background activity time zone updates.
Business Application — displays a complete history of all operations in the Business Applications module. This includes Business Application management, Business Group management, User management, Service principal management, and Monitoring profile management.
Business Activity Monitoring — displays a complete history of all operations in the Business Activity Monitoring module. This includes Business Process management and User management.
Azure Documenter — displays a complete history of all operations in the Azure Documenter module. This includes Document configuration management and User management.
Cost Analyzer — displays a complete history of all operations in the Cost Analyzer module. This includes monitoring management and optimization schedule management.
To filter logs:
Use the available filters to narrow results to a specific log entry. You can filter by category, logged date, and the user who performed the activity.
To export logs:
Select the export option to download logs as an Excel file. The export includes all significant details for each entry: the activity performed, date and time, category type, feature type, and more.
Configuration
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Log category | Filters the log view by module or settings area. Options: Settings, Business Application, Business Activity Monitoring, Azure Documenter, Cost Analyzer. |
| Category filter | Narrows results within a log category to a specific sub-category. |
| Date filter | Filters log entries by the date the activity was logged. |
| User filter | Filters log entries by the user who performed the activity. |
Permission behavior
With access:
Users with access to the Settings menu can view all user activity logs across all log categories.
Without access:
Users without Settings access cannot view user activity logs. No logs are visible, and no partial data is exposed.
Example scenario
An administrator notices an unexpected configuration change in the Cost Analyzer monitoring settings. They navigate to Settings > User activities, select the Cost Analyzer log category, and filter by the date the issue was first observed. They identify the log entry showing the monitoring configuration update, expand the entry to view the JSON detail, and open the Changes tab to see exactly what was modified and by whom. They use this information to revert the change and notify the user.
Limitations
- Logs are retained for 30 days only. Entries older than 30 days are purged automatically and cannot be recovered.
- User activities logs are read-only. You cannot modify or delete individual log entries.
Troubleshooting
-
No logs visible in User activities
Cause: The selected log category has no activity within the current view window, or the applied filters are too narrow.
Fix: Clear all active filters and check a broader date range. If still empty, confirm that operations have been performed in that module recently. -
Log entry shows no Changes tab
Cause: The operation recorded was a create or delete, not an update. The Changes tab only appears for update operations.
Fix: This is expected behaviour. Review the JSON detail in the main entry view for full context. -
Export does not include all expected entries
Cause: The export reflects the currently filtered view. If date or user filters are active, only filtered entries are exported.
Fix: Clear all filters before exporting to ensure the full log set is included in the downloaded file. -
A recent operation is not appearing in the log
Cause: There may be a short delay before new log entries appear, or the current filter is excluding the entry.
Fix: Refresh the page and check that no date or user filters are excluding the recent entry. -
User activities section is not visible in Settings
Cause: Your account role may not have access to the Settings menu.
Fix: Contact your Turbo360 account administrator to verify your role and permissions.
